PART-TIME WORSHIP ARTS DIRECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS A

fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ with a vibrant personal walk, committed to the doctrines, mission and ministry philosophy of Fellowship Bible Church. A dedicated individual willing to devote 10-15 hours (estimated) weekly to carry out the responsibilities described below. Knowledge and skills in music and worship with technology emphasis. Minimum 2 years of experience leading a worship team in a similar environment as set forth in the responsibilities outlined below. Experienced and proficient in leading as a part of a well-rehearsed band. If not an instrumentalist, must be able to relate to musicians regarding song arrangements, chosen keys, tempo and rhythm. Expected to provide through platforms such as Planning Center and Church Teams, in a timely manner: audio song files in the proper key for home rehearsal along with printable chord sheets with lyrics, and lead sheets in the proper key for all instruments. ACCOUNTABILITY

First, and foremost, to Jesus Christ, our one true worship leader and then to the Elders of Fellowship Bible Church.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Build, maintain, schedule and prepare a worship team to create a comfortable, inviting atmosphere to lead the congregants of Fellowship Bible Church into an encounter with God. Follow the preset protocol through which potential team members are interviewed to confirm beliefs that align with Fellowship Bible Church and auditioned to confirm vocal or instrumental competence to integrate with the existing worship team. Provide leadership, training and coaching to the team which includes instrumentalists, vocalists, sound, video and lighting techs. Be the Connect Group leader" for the team. Provide spiritual care for worship team; promote a small group atmosphere and relationship among the worship team. Investing in the lives of team members and helping them develop in their own giftedness. Instill in team members an appreciation for proper worship as an honor to God, not an opportunity to "perform". Emphasis on music and arts that draw participants/congregation into worship as opposed being spectators. Train, equip, encourage and nurture members of the worship team so that they grow in skill and confidence as worship leaders. Provide less experienced team members skill appropriate opportunities to grow and expand their talents. Prepare the team for worship through regular weekly rehearsals. (This can be coordinated to best meet logistical factors and availability of team members.) Set the tone for the team by your own punctuality, preparedness and confidence. Lead the team, including vocalists, instrumentalists, sound and video techs through a rehearsal that assures that all can be at their best for the Sunday services: including the use of click tracks and cues in Aviom in-ear monitor system. Attend periodic meetings with elders to ensure unity and shared vision. Communicate weekly with the teaching elder to plan the corporate worship services. Train and oversee volunteer team members in video and audio recording of Sunday morning service, posting to web, and maintaining the YouTube channel used for livestreaming of Sunday services. Oversee• song selection, as well as other elements of worship such as drama, scripture readings, videos, etc. with the goal that all aspects support the theme or teaching points of the service. Communicate the goals or theme of each service to the team so that they may be working toward the same end. (•

NOTE:

Selection of worship elements may be delegated on a regular basis to encourage the development of future worship leaders, as well as to provide an opportunity for routine Sabbath rest.) Selection of music should always include a style reflective of the worship culture of FBC, an accuracy of doctrine, and a reflection of the mission and vision of Fellowship Bible Church. With these things in mind, the leader has a great opportunity to choose songs from the classic standard hymns of the church as well as the songs of current generations and original songs generated from the inspiration of the Lord at FBC. With appropriate collaboration with team members, oversee and ensure all graphics, lyrics, videos and other visuals have been provided to AV team by an agreed upon deadline. Alternatively, see that all such material is properly set up in ProPresenter prior to arrival of AV team for Sunday morning rehearsal.
