The Old Globe will be happy to cooperate with your institution to complete any necessary paperwork. Current enrollment in an academic program is not a prerequisite for this program. Compensation Stage management apprenticeships will be paid a non-exempt hourly rate of $17.75/hour (or San Diego minimum wage). Additionally, apprentices will be considered company members and will receive perks such as complimentary tickets and free entrance to Balboa Park attractions. Applicants should have a strong interest in professional stage management. Apprentices will work alongside AEA stage managers throughout all aspects of the rehearsal process. Apprentices will be involved in daily rehearsals, technical rehearsals, production meetings, and understudy rehearsals. There will be opportunities to observe the calling of shows, backstage operations, etc. The Old Globe is one of the country's finest regional theatres, attracting nationally known actors, directors, and designers. The stage management apprenticeship is a full-time commitment, 5 to 6 days a week. Apprenticeship lengths vary so please see detailed listings above. Candidates should be at least 18 years old at the start of the apprenticeship.
