NSMT seeks applications from experienced AEA stage managers for our 2026 season.
CONTRACT
AEA - COST Tier 2+
PSM:
$1,397 week
ASM:
$1,171 week Plus applicable pension and health contributions.

Qualifications:
The Stage Management team is responsible for the smooth transition of a production from the first rehearsal through the final performance. They must ensure the artistic integrity of the Director's vision is maintained while strictly adhering to the rules and regulations set forth in the Actors' Equity Association (COST) rulebook. Key responsibilities, skills, and qualifications include but are not limited to:
Prompt Book Creation:
Develop and maintain the "Bible," including the script, blocking, cues, contact sheets, and rehearsal schedules.
Equity Compliance:
Monitor and enforce union rules regarding breaks, meal periods, and "span of day" limitations.
Space Preparation:
 Facilitate the "tape out" of floor plans for scenic elements and manage rehearsal props/furniture.
Daily ing:
Generate detailed Rehearsal s for all departments (scenic, costumes, lighting, sound, etc.) regarding discoveries or changes made during the day.
Cues & Calling:
Execute the precise calling of all lighting, sound, automation, and deck cues during the run.
Backstage Management:
 The Production Stage Manager (PSM) will supervise the Assistant Stage Managers (ASM) and and work with run crew to ensure safe and efficient scene shifts.
Safety & Maintenance:
Conduct safety walk-throughs and "fight calls" or "dance calls" as required.
Performance Integrity:
Maintain the show's artistic quality after the Director has departed; provide actors with "maintenance notes" to prevent "performance drift." Performance s: Issue reports detailing run times, audience reactions, and any technical or medical incidents.
Departmental Liaison:
Facilitatemunication between the visiting creative team (Director/Designers) and the resident staff.
Schedule Management:
Coordinate all fittings, publicity calls, and educational talk-backs within AEA-allotted hours.
Labor Relations:
Act as the first line of defense in resolving conflicts or grievances in a diplomatic, professional manner.
Active AEA Membership:
Must be in good standing with Actors' Equity Association.
Leadership:
Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to remain calm and decisive under "tech-week" pressure.
Organization:
Highlyanized with a proficiency in paperwork (Excel, Google Suite, or specialized SM software like StageWrite).
Physical Requirements:
 Ability to work long, irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
