ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing, , specific patient care tasks per scope of service and as directed by leadership and/or surgical team. Communicates effectively and frequently with health care team members to share information and solve problems in a positive and result oriented manner. Utilizes available educational materials, programs, literature, and resource personnel for career development and attends mandatory in-services to maintain unit competencies. Adheres to Organization Infection control practices, and policies and to established safety and security policies, including (2) patient identifiers whenever transporting patients and/or providing any additional patient care Assists with appropriate tasks in all code situations (i.e. CPR, obtaining equipment, etc.) under the direction of the Surgical Services Team. Assists with room set ups and clean ups including but not limited to identifying and gathering appropriate positioning devices, equipment and supplies for the operation/procedure. (i.e. patient beds/tables, power consoles, linen, etc). Assists the health care teamwith positioning and transferring the surgical/procedural patient. Assists with maintaining the general cleanliness and appearance of areas on the unit, including but not limited to: Cleans surgical/procedural rooms after each use. Terminally cleans operating/procedural rooms regularly and per Infection Control policy. Cleans all equipment required for operations and/or procedures as assigned. -Cleans other areas within the department such as storage areas, hallways, core, Control -desk, workrooms, and any other area deemed necessary. Runs errands within and outside the department and communicates appropriately and efficiently with all parties prior to leaving and upon return. Utilizes resources and responds appropriately (i.e. voceras, overhead pages, phone calls, etc.)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

Requires high school diploma or equivalent; General knowledge of high school subject matter including sciences Simple Medical Procedures/Terminology preferred. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire date.
