Job Description

Personal Care Aide (PCA) Starting at $13.00/hour - $500 Sign-On Bonus
PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION
Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living in accordance with individualized service plans and regulatory requirements while promoting independence and dignity.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Completion of state-approved personal care training program or willing to complete upon hire. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred. Demonstrates patience, empathy, and respect for older adults.
RESIDENT RIGHTS
Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy in all interactions. Treat residents with dignity, respect, and compassion. Report grievances, concerns, and suspected abuse immediately per policy. Honor residents' choices and promote independence whenever possible.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation. Provide assistance with meals, hydration, and snacks per individualized plans. Encourage participation in recreational and social activities. Maintain a clean, safe environment; promptly report maintenance or safety issues. Document care provided in electronic or paper records per policy. Observe and report changes in residents' physical, mental, or emotional status to supervisor. Assist with transportation and escort services within the building as needed.
SAFETY AND SANITATION
Follow infection control, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times. Use PPE appropriately; perform hand hygiene before and after each resident contact. Maintain equipment cleanliness; report malfunctions immediately. Participate in fire and emergency drills and safety in-services.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs; frequent standing and walking. Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Demonstrate compassion, integrity, and reliability in all duties.
