JOB GOAL

To work with an individual student who is limited in the ability to perform independently in terms of basic moto and, sensory functions.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Adapt to the student's mode of communication as necessary for instructional purposes.2.Assists with toileting, feeding, and positioning of student;3.Communicate with the teacher(s) on behalf of the student.4.Assisting the student to transition successfully from one class to the next.5.Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information6.Accompanies the teacher and student on field trips and community-based instructional opportunities during the school day.7.Performs reinforcement instructional services as delegated by the teacher, including reinforcing activities in the visual, auditory, motor and cognitive areas as well as life skills.8.Assists with related services, i.e., occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech, adapted physical education, and vision;9.Assists the assigned student on and off the bus at arrival and departure times10.Attends training as required for performance of job. This may include, but is not limited to crisis intervention, CPR and First Aid.11.Follows and reinforces the student's behavior plan as instructed by the classroom teacher.12.Accompanies the assigned student and assists the teacher during emergency drills.13.Completes any other duty or assignments as directed by the Principal and/or Special Education Administrator
