Job Description

Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. This vital role offers an energetic and rewarding opportunity to provide dedicated assistance in various care settings, including assisted living, home health, group homes, and long-term care facilities. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will empower residents and clients to maintain independence, dignity, and comfort through attentive, personalized care. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a warm, supportive environment where every individual feels valued and cared for. Duties Assist residents and clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's Monitor patient health by taking vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature), observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards Support medication administration under supervision or as authorized by care plans, ensuring safety and compliance with healthcare regulations Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, assist with feeding when necessary, and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas Implement individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals or social workers to meet each resident's unique needs Maintain a safe environment through regular cleaning, infection control practices, and adherence to safety protocols such as CPR and first aid procedures Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents meticulously to ensure continuity of care and compliance with healthcare standards Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home & community care environments or with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with people experiencing dementia or Alzheimer's disease; experience with memory care is a plus Knowledge of medication administration procedures and ability to monitor vital signs accurately Experience working with people with autism or disabilities is beneficial; familiarity with care plans and resident-specific needs is essential Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks involving residents or equipment like Hoyer lifts; ability to assist with transfers safely Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, healthcare teams, and other staff members High School Diploma Join us in providing exceptional personal care that enhances quality of life!
