Job Summary Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care / Companion Care Aide in Norfolk, providing vital support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities and enhancing their quality of life. This part-time daytime role offers an energetic and fulfilling opportunity to make a meaningful difference by delivering personalized care in a respectful and nurturing environment. You will be instrumental in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for our clients through attentive caregiving, engaging companionship, and diligent monitoring. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and observe patients' health status, noting any changes or concerns, and report findings accurately to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area Utilize care plans to deliver personalized care, including assisting with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment Employ patient monitoring techniques such as vital signs checks and patient observation to ensure ongoing health and safety Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's as needed for safe transfers and mobility assistance Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory care needs Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality Hands-on experience with patient care tasks such as medication administration, vital signs measurement, and patient observation Familiarity with care plans development and implementation for long-term or hospice care clients Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is a plus Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, or group home experience are advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided Join us in creating a positive impact through dedicated caregiving!
