Job Description

Job description About Us Fuerst Insurance Services, founded by Carlette Purfuerst, provides comprehensive insurance solutions for auto, home, and business coverage across Wisconsin. As an independent agency, we take pride in treating every client like our most important client. Our mission is to build lasting relationships based on trust, honesty, and education—helping our clients feel confident that their insurance needs are fully met. We focus on providing professional advice, personalized customer service, and high-quality insurance products that deliver real value. If you're a motivated insurance professional who believes in educating clients and providing exceptional service, we'd love to have you on our team. Position Summary The Personal Insurance Advisor is responsible for writing and retaining profitable personal insurance accounts by evaluating client needs, developing tailored insurance proposals, and delivering exceptional service. This role focuses on preferred Home, Auto, and Umbrella personal lines accounts and emphasizes comprehensive insurance solutions — combining proper coverage, value, compliance, and superior service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify and qualify prospects by evaluating insurance needs, identifying coverage gaps, and assessing risk exposures. Develop and present personalized insurance proposals that address client needs and ensure complete, accurate documentation. Educate clients on policy options, coverages, exclusions, and exposures to help them make informed decisions. Process documentation and correspondence per agency standards, ensuring accuracy in client records, certificates, cancellations, and ID cards. Maintain compliance and accuracy by thoroughly documenting all coverage discussions, quotes, and policy changes in the agency management system. Deliver outstanding customer service by anticipating client needs, building trust, and maintaining positive relationships with clients, carriers, and colleagues. Collaborate with internal and carrier partners to ensure efficient, timely service and a consistent client experience.
Core Competencies:
Strong understanding of personal insurance underwriting, coverage, and rate analysis. Highly detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Demonstrates timeliness, efficiency, and reliability in all client and internal interactions. Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability, organization, and follow-through. Committed to delivering a superior client experience with consistency and care.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred). Valid Wisconsin Property and Casualty Insurance License required. Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Personal Lines account management or sales. Proficient in office software and technology. Experience with an Agency Management System (AMS) preferred. Strong understanding of personal insurance products, underwriting, and risk evaluation.
About BWO Insurance:
Our journey as an agency began back in 1985 with one goal in mind: provide the best insurance protection with a high degree of professionalism. Of course, back then, things were a bit different•we had a much smaller office and a different sign on the door. Despite changes over the years, our focus is still our clients, and making them feel like part of the BWO family.

From our decades of experience, we have found a lot of truth in the old cliché•actions speak louder than words. Just ask our clients, our team members, and our carriers. Because it's not how we treat a certain group that makes us who we are•it's how we treat each and every individual we interact with. It's how we approach business as a partnership and not a one-sided transaction. It's how we hire based on character and not resume entries. We're all a part of this extended family that we started when we opened in 1985.
