Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Personal Support Staff member and become a vital part of enhancing the quality of life for individuals in various care settings. In this role, you will provide compassionate, personalized assistance to residents and clients, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your energetic and proactive approach will help foster a supportive environment where individuals with diverse needs—ranging from developmental disabilities to senior care—can thrive. Responsibilities Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor vital signs and observe health changes, reporting any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols Support individuals with dementia or memory care needs through engaging activities and behavior management techniques Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met Document care activities, health updates, and incidents using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems or paper logs in compliance with privacy regulations Drive residents to appointments or community outings safely when required, adhering to all traffic laws and safety procedures Employ proper techniques for transfers and mobility assistance, utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts or gait belts to ensure safety for both residents and staff Engage in ongoing training related to first aid, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, behavior management, and other relevant areas to enhance caregiving skills Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable Knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is preferred Certification or training in first aid and CPR is advantageous; willingness to obtain certifications if not already held Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals Valid driver's license for driving residents or clients when necessary Experience with EMR systems or similar documentation tools is a plus Compassionate attitude combined with patience and excellent interpersonal skills Embark on a fulfilling career where your dedication directly impacts lives.
