Personal Trainer - Private Training Studio on The Hill Personal Space Fitness, LLC St. Louis, MO Job Details Contract $42 - $55 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Gym membership Qualifications Boxing Exercise Science Certified Personal Trainer CPR Certification Customer relationship building Maintaining an organized workspace Kinesiology Yoga Pilates CPR Personal training Mid-level Client relationship development Instructor-led training (training delivery method) Clean workspace maintenance Personal trainer experience (1-2 years) NASM Certified Personal Trainer Fitness for older adults AED Certification Full Job Description Look, I'm going to level with you. You probably haven't heard of us. Or maybe you have? We don't actually have metrics for that. The one thing we do have "data" for is that we keep growing. Enough so that we're moving into a larger dedicated Personal Training facility and we need trainers to fill it. At Personal Space Fitness , we coach real adults with real goals, real schedules, and real knees. Some want to get stronger. Some want to move without pain. Some want accountability. Ok, some do have unrealistic goals and possibly fake knees, so our crew of trainers need to be able to handle anything. Our personal training facility on The Hill is our dedicated space for personal training. Private, appointment-based, and built for focused coaching without the chaos of a crowded gym floor. We're looking for a Certified Personal Trainer who can coach 1:1, 2:1 and semi-private clients with professionalism, warmth, and enough technical skill to know when "just push harder" is a terrible plan. That's a long way of saying we're looking for a coach who reads this and thinks, "Yeah, I guess that makes sense?" Who you are (not legally binding) You're comfortable working with everyday adults: tight hips, real jobs, and might get little bit mad about burpees. You care about form, safety, and helping people feel capable. You can meet a client where they are, build trust, adjust on the fly, and explain movement in a way that makes sense to a normal person. What you'll actually do Responsibilities may include: Coach 1:1 and 2:1 personal training sessions Coach semi-private training sessions when appropriate Adapt programming based on client goals, experience, and limitations Teach strength movements clearly and safely Build strong relationships with clients and help them stay consistent Track basic client notes, attendance, and progress Communicate professionally with the team about client needs Maintain a clean, safe, organized training environment Represent PSF's coaching standards in a private, appointment-based setting
Requirements:
Must-haves Current nationally recognized personal training certification
Examples:
NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, ISSA, NCSF, or similar CPR/AED certified or willing to obtain within 30 days Strong understanding of strength training, movement mechanics, regressions, and progressions Comfortable working with a wide range of adults, from beginners to more experienced clients Reliable, professional, punctual, and communicative Able to coach in person at our facility on The Hill in St. Louis Nice-to-haves Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field Experience with older adults, beginners, injury history, or general population clients Experience with semi-private training Specialty certifications or experience in mobility, corrective exercise, nutrition coaching, boxing, yoga, Pilates, or sports performance Interest in growing into a larger coaching role over time Schedule & Availability We're currently looking to fill some of the usual "I guess I live in a gym now" windows: Potential needs include: Early mornings Midday availability Weekday evenings You do not need to be available for all of these. Please tell us what you can consistently cover. What you get A dedicated personal training facility - not a crowded gym floor Existing member base and personal training demand No sales quotas Support from senior coaches and ownership Personal training opportunities with room to build a consistent schedule Access to open gym time Continuing education support A private, professional setting where the coaching relationship is the point Growth path If you're into it: More recurring personal training clients Semi-private training blocks Specialty programs or workshops Management track How to apply Apply with your resume and a short note answering: How many years of experience do you have with Personal Training? What's your favorite coaching cue or movement and why? One thing you never want to see in a gym again. It's ok to be honest. We've seen things. We're hiring for The Hill location - with our transition to a new building you'll still see our 1904 Marconi address listed and on our website, but the new address is 2131 59th St - still on The Hill but easier access off I-44. I feel like this is the part where people say something about working hard and playing harder. That's just so weird. Can everyone stop doing that? Anyway, if you've made it this far we'd love to hear from you.
Pay:
$42.00 - $55.00 per hour
Benefits:
Gym membership
License/Certification:
nationally recognized fitness certification (Required) CPR/AED certification (Preferred)
Work Location:
In person
