Job Title:
Pharmacist Job Description This role offers an opportunity for a licensed Pharmacist to work in a high-volume fulfillment environment, ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant dispensing of medications. You will verify prescriptions, oversee pharmacy technicians and inventory staff, and perform final quality checks before medications are packed and shipped. The position requires strong attention to detail, integrity, adaptability, and the ability to work independently within established quality and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Verify prescriptions and prescription data entered into the pharmacy computer system for accuracy and completeness. Perform the final quality check on medications in the fulfillment area before they are packed and shipped to patients. Oversee and guide the daily activities of pharmacy technicians and inventory personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations. Organize workload, set priorities, and complete assignments in a timely manner while using resources effectively. Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with applicable state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Support and adhere to department quality assurance and continuous improvement guidelines. Utilize a basic understanding of robotic automation to support fulfillment processes and troubleshoot routine issues as needed. Use Microsoft Word and other MS Office tools to create, edit, save, and send documents, and maintain accurate records. Use Outlook and conduct Internet searches to support daily pharmacy operations and communication needs. Work primarily in a standing and walking environment throughout the shift. Lift up to 30 pounds as part of routine duties, such as handling medication totes, boxes, or supplies. Work designated evening shifts and maintain flexibility to adjust hours based on workflow and operational needs. Demonstrate adaptability, maturity, integrity, and the ability to work with minimal guidance while upholding professional and ethical standards. Essential Skills Active Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of New Jersey. At least 1 year of experience working as a licensed Pharmacist (open to new graduates, but working experience is preferred). Ability to verify prescriptions and prescription data accurately in a pharmacy computer system. Ability to oversee pharmacy technicians and inventory personnel in a fulfillment setting. Proficiency with MS Office and a Windows-based environment, including creating, editing, saving, and sending documents using Microsoft Word. Ability to navigate Outlook for email communication and conduct Internet searches. Ability to work the designated evening shift and flexible hours based on workflow needs. Capability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds safely. Basic understanding of robotic automation used in pharmacy fulfillment. Demonstrated adaptability, integrity, maturity, and the ability to handle responsibilities independently. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3 years of experience as a Pharmacist in a retail pharmacy, hospital, or managed care setting. 1 year of experience working as a Pharmacist in a fulfillment and/or mail order environment. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmacy fulfillment operations. Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or Managed Care experience. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload efficiently. Commitment to quality assurance and continuous process improvement. Comfort working with technology-driven workflows, including robotic automation systems. Work Environment This role offers a 24-40 hour work week with a confirmed schedule of three days per week on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, with the potential to work Wednesday and Thursday depending on workflow and business needs. The position is scheduled for the evening shift, typically from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. You will work in a fulfillment-focused pharmacy environment that relies on a combination of pharmacy computer systems, MS Office tools, Outlook, and robotic automation to process and ship medications efficiently. The work is primarily performed while standing and walking for most of the shift, and you will regularly handle items weighing up to 30 pounds, such as medication totes and supply boxes. The environment emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and teamwork, while also expecting pharmacists to operate with a high degree of independence and professionalism. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Montville, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
