Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to support an inpatient behavioral health facility in Council Bluffs, IA. This role is critical in maintaining pharmacy operations during the transition period until a permanent hire is made. The assignment starts on May 18 and offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, approximately 6 hours per day.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in an inpatient behavioral health setting. Manage medication distribution, including repackaging using systems like Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL. Utilize automated dispensing machines, including drug loading and running restock reports. Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapies. Provide leadership and direction as the Pharmacist in Charge / Director of Pharmacy.Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid Iowa pharmacist license. Experience with Omnicell automated dispensing systems preferred. Practical knowledge of medication repackaging techniques. Ability to manage inventory and automated machine restocking efficiently. Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently.Location:
Council Bluffs, Iowa - inpatient behavioral health setting.Schedule:
