Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract An expanding specialty pharmacy is seeking a seasoned Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy facility in Lancaster, PA. This full-time, onsite role offers a unique opportunity to shape and direct pharmacy operations from inception through licensure, inspection readiness, and operational startup. Ideal for someone who thrives in start-up environments and is passionate about regulatory compliance, quality systems, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge for Pennsylvania licensure and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance Lead pharmacy licensing processes, regulatory submissions, and Board of Pharmacy inspection preparedness Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy policies Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, including DEA regulations Support operational setup including workflow design, compliance frameworks, and quality management Oversee dispensing accuracy, safety protocols, and regulatory adherence post-launch Maintain audit readiness and serve as the primary liaison during regulatory inspections Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to support pharmacy scaling and potential multi-state licensingQualifications:
Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required) Proven experience as a PIC or in a pharmacy leadership role Strong background in pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements Experience in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy settings preferred In-depth knowledge of state Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations Familiarity with audits, inspections, or pharmacy startup environments Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsIdeal Candidate:
