Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Pharmacy Automation Coordinator, you will serve as the pharmacy team leader for the automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) segment of our medication distribution system.
Every day you will be responsible for controlled substance inventory, monitoring usage, investigating and following up on all discrepancies, and serving as the primary liaison between the ADC vendor and Nursing for problem solving. To be successful in this role, you will expertly manage the ADC system and controlled substance protocols, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless collaboration with nursing and vendors, while actively contributing to continuous quality improvement. Monitors activities of all the controlled substances; documents, follows up and alerts Manager/Director on all discrepancies. Serves as liaison between Nursing and Pharmacy for problem solving; communicates with Manager/Director regularly concerning issues/problems. Produces discrepancy and QA reports.
Produces ADC compare reports; reviews and follows up on all defined reports associated with ADC and the CII safe; maintains storage records. Coordinates and maintains an accurate inventory of all controlled substances. Processes and ensures compliant sales to all internal and external departments, including retail, home health/hospice, off-site locations, medical clinics if applicable and other areas. Manages and troubleshoots all ADC stations to include security and communication of system changes and upgrades. Job Requirements Required High School Graduate, upon hire or High School GED or equivalent, upon hire and Two years of recent pharmacy experience in a hospital setting or equivalent
