Enters the correct drug, strength, dosage form and quantity into the pient's computerized medical chart. Assists pharmacists in filling prescriptions (i.e., typing, filling prescriptions in written and oral forms, etc.). Operes and cares for various pharmacy equipment; assists pharmacy staff in maintaining cleanliness of main pharmacy, pharmacy storage, and other drug storage areas. Background Investigion Requirement:
This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigion as a condition of employment. A background investigion is a standard process used by the Federal Government to verify an individual's identity, employment history, educion, and other relevant informion to determine suitability for Federal service. (S) : Individual Occupional Requirements Specialized Experience For positions GS-6 and above: Qualifying specialized experience may have been gained in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or in pharmaceutical firms or laborories. Experience must have provided a basic knowledge of: Pharmaceutical nomenclure; Characteristics, strengths, and dosage forms of pharmaceuticals; Pharmaceutical systems of weights and measures; and the Variety of procedures and techniques involved in the care, storage, repackaging, bulk compounding, and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The following experience and/or educion is required to qualify for this position. For GS-6 Your resume must demonstre least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the prive or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Performing pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management. Filling prescriptions utilizing automed dispensing equipment. Calculing doses to mch the physician's order with pharmacy stocks and filling prescriptions. OR Successfully completed 6 months (9 semester hours) of gradue educion th is directly reled to the work of the position. OR A combinion of educion and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-06 grade level. You must meet all qualificion requirements within 30 days of the closing de of the announcement. Educion There are no specific educion requirements for this position.
