Job Description

•This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of $1,250 Serving the needs of the surrounding communities, Willoughby Hills Family Health Center offers patients a wide variety of pediatric, family medicine, radiology and cardiology services. On this team, you will join a family of caregivers, enhance your skills and build a rewarding career at Cleveland Clinic, one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world. The Pharmacy Technician - Community supports the outpatient pharmacy team at Willoughby Hills Family Health Center, a high-volume ambulatory pharmacy processing approximately 400 prescriptions per day. This role involves rotating through multiple cross-trained work areas on a weekly basis, including prescription typing, medication filling, customer service and register support, answering phones, inventory management, and stocking responsibilities. Caregivers may also float to support additional workflow areas as needed, with each workstation maintaining daily task responsibilities to support efficient pharmacy operations and quality patient care. A caregiver in this role will work 20 hours, Monday and Tuesday on 10 hour shifts from 7:45am to 6:15pm and may have to rotate into 9:45am to 8:15pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting. Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients. Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy. Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items. Operate the point-of-sale cash register system. Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products. Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma/GED Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application: Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP).

A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with OBOP does not qualify for this role. However, please visit the apprenticeship program to express interest: https://talentcommunity.clevelandclinic.org/campaign/apprentiship-programs/ ) It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Six months of hospital experience Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program
Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, stooping, and sitting for prolonged times; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs. while walking, stooping, bending and reaching.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range Minimum hourly:
$21.50 Maximum hourly: $31.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
