1.122.06.2020.1241 QUALIFICATIONS Valid Michigan Teaching certificate. Minimum of a Bachelors Degree. Must hold a valid certification in the area of cognitive impairment or be willing to enroll in a state approved program to acquire the endorsement. Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements. Be proficient in the use of technology. In this role you must be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students Demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, social justice and inclusion in all practices and position responsibilities.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. Create and maintain an environment that fosters student achievement and the development of lifelong skills. Maximize opportunities for student success by creating positive working relationships with students. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Show confidence in working with new technology and various application packages. Be a role model for students regarding life-long learning and professional behavior. Confer with parents, administrators, social workers, and other professionals to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social/emotional development. Must be able to work in a collaborative environment and area always willing to learn new skills or revamp their curriculum. Be flexible, resourceful, innovative and can effectively manage the design and execution of learning experiences, both formal and informal, that are very responsive to the needs of students and the context in which learning is taking place. Observe and evaluate student's performance and development. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students. Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work. Have Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training or will get the training as soon as possible. Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
