The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in laboratory procedures and techniques, with a focus on patient care and specimen collection. As a vital member of our healthcare environment, the Phlebotomist will ensure accurate blood sampling and specimen processing while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and patient comfort. This role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes in a dynamic hospital or clinical setting. Duties Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and other appropriate techniques, ensuring minimal discomfort and maximum safety. Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, adhering to strict protocols for specimen handling and processing. Maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures to prevent contamination and ensure specimen integrity. Assist in patient care by providing compassionate service, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient concerns professionally. Follow laboratory procedures and safety guidelines diligently to uphold compliance with health regulations. Document all collection activities accurately within electronic health records or paper logs, ensuring traceability. Collaborate with laboratory personnel and healthcare providers to facilitate efficient workflow and accurate test results. Qualifications Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory environments is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen collection/processing. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and laboratory safety protocols. Previous hospital or healthcare facility experience is preferred to understand clinical workflows effectively. Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse populations. Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as blood culture collection, specimen labeling, and handling of biological samples.

Pay:

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
