13 weeks Responsibilities Collect blood samples through venipuncture and other approved methods, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination. Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and documentation. Assist in obtaining vital signs and relevant patient information to support accurate test results. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following infection control standards. Provide compassionate patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort throughout the process. Follow laboratory protocols and procedures related to specimen collection, handling, and processing. Maintain detailed records of all specimen collections and related activities for compliance and quality assurance. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely delivery of specimens and communicate any issues or irregularities promptly. Stay updated on current laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to phlebotomy practices. Skills Proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection / processing methods. Solid laboratory experience with a focus on clinical laboratory practices. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to blood sampling. Experience in hospital or healthcare environments is highly desirable. Expertise in venipuncture (blood sampling) and other phlebotomy techniques. Ability to accurately measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, and temperature. Strong understanding of aseptic technique to prevent infection during specimen collection. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations. Familiarity with laboratory safety standards, hospital protocols, and specimen handling procedures.
