Manassas, VA PSC (Not a float role)

Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00
PM Work Arrangement:
Onsite Position Summary The Phlebotomist I will be responsible for performing blood draws, specimen collection, processing, and related laboratory duties. This role includes troubleshooting, workflow support, and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards. Background & Context Coverage for
LOA/FMLA
at Alexandria IOP Occasional support required at Manassas PSC Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles Collect, label, centrifuge, process, and store specimens accurately Ensure proper matching of requisition forms with specimen tubes Follow all specimen handling, storage, and transport protocols Explain procedures clearly to patients (blood draw, urine, fecal collection) Maintain patient records and update information as required Package specimens for transport maintaining integrity standards Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations Support lab operations including answering calls and relaying results Participate in training and provide workflow improvement suggestions Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or GED Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab/hospital setting 2-4 years of overall experience preferred Valid Phlebotomy Certification (if required by state) Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong ability to work independently and in a team
Working Conditions Alexandria IOP:
Solo role (~20 patients/day)
Manassas PSC:
Team setting (~60-100 patients/day) Color vision screening required Additional Information ~2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred Pediatric to geriatric draw experience required Specimen processing experience is a plus
