PM Tuesday, Thursday:
7:00 AM•4:00
PM Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist II will independently perform venipunctures and specimen processing at an IOP location, serving 20-30 patients daily. This role requires proficiency in drawing from all age groups (pediatrics to geriatrics), specimen handling, and the ability to work alone while maintaining high-quality standards. The position supports clinical operations with accuracy, efficiency, and excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture procedures on patients of all ages (pediatrics through geriatrics). Process specimens accurately between patient draws. Manage daily patient flow independently, ensuring timely and efficient service. Ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of specimens. Maintain patient safety and comfort during all procedures. Comply with all clinical and safety guidelines, including color vision requirements. Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to IOP operational standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience, with proven skills in pediatrics and geriatrics. Experience in specimen processing is required. Comfortable working independently without direct supervision. High School Diploma or GED required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in clinical procedures. Color vision is required for this position. Negative THC drug screen required.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in IOP or high-volume clinical settings. Familiarity with specimen handling protocols and laboratory procedures. Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
Vaccination Requirements:
Hepatitis B TB Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Stand for extended periods while performing draws. Fast-paced, patient-facing clinical environment. Ability to perform repetitive tasks and handle multiple patients per day.
