Job Responsibilities:
Conduct pediatric physical therapy screenings, evaluations, and treatments in an accurate and timely manner. Perform developmental testing and identify areas of developmental concern. Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings. Provide ongoing therapy services to children enrolled at PATCHES. Document patient progress toward treatment goals and modify treatment plans as needed. Meet established weekly patient care frequency goals. Document evaluation findings, treatment plans, and patient progress in the EMR system. Enter required data into the EQ Health system to obtain authorization for therapy services. Utilize therapy-related software and electronic medical record systems to maintain accurate and timely records. Evaluate patients for orthotic needs and recommend appropriate interventions. Assess patient needs for durable medical equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, orthotic devices). Assist with procurement of necessary equipment and ensure proper therapeutic use. Educate families and caregivers on therapy techniques, home exercise programs, and strategies to support the child's progress at home. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) to ensure effective implementation of treatment plans. Provide oversight and supervision for assigned students during clinical rotations. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support collaborative patient care. Maintain positive working relationships and promote teamwork across all disciplines. Adhere to all regulatory, ethical, and practice standards of pediatric physical therapy. Ensure compliance with patient safety protocols, legal guidelines, and industry standards. Maintain patient confidentiality and high ethical standards of care. Stay current with pediatric therapy best practices through continuing education and training. Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift or assist with lifting between 35 to 50 pounds independently. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling required. Adequate physical strength to assist with patient mobility and equipment handling. Ability to move quickly and respond to patients' needs during therapy sessions.
Qualifications:
Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Florida. Florida Medicaid provider number required. Pediatric physical therapy experience preferred. Proficiency in computer systems, electronic medical records, and technology platforms required for accurate documentation, communication, and regulatory compliance. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. Proficiency in documenting patient progress and managing therapy data. Ability to assess patients' needs for DME and orthotic devices. Basic knowledge of therapy-related software and equipment. Culturally sensitive and aware of diverse patient needs
