2026-2027 School Year Pediatric Physical Therapist to provide school-based services for Christina School District.
Qualifications :
State of Delaware Professional License as a Physical Therapist Successful completion all field work required Bachelor or Master degree Proficient in Technology, Microsoft Office Applications, Children's Educational Software etc. Demonstrates sensitivity to issues impacting various cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic groups. Show evidence of knowledge regarding practices known to be effective in promoting student learning while shows evidence of knowledge while increasing student achievement Demonstrates understanding and ability to perform job related tasks. Regular attendance is an essential function of the position Must be able to teach/serve students remotely and in person depending on the Needs of their students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Screen, assess, and evaluate students using appropriate tests and assessment instruments Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings to develop Individual Education Plans Develop specific benchmarks (short term goals) related to annual goals to be part of the IEP. Plan and provide appropriate specialized physical therapy techniques through individual and/or group sessions designed to meet the educational needs of the student consistent with physical therapy goals contained in Individual Education Plans (IEP) Work on scheduling services to ensure all students' IEP requirements are met. Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy services Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom based activities Counsel and involve parents in the physical therapy program of their child Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required in accordance with federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and school policy to include documentation for the need for equipment and materials Meet the needs of all students effectively by working in partnership with other disciplines. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and school policy Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research, theories, and practices associated with the Physical Therapy profession Reduce barriers that limit student participation within the school environment, and utilize assistive technology to support student success with a variety of assistive technology and positioning equipment (i.e., sitting/standing equipment, adapted wheelchairs, etc.). Participates in continuing education for professional development to ensure practice consistent with best practice to meet license requirements Provides professional development to staff when necessary Other duties as assigned The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee in this position.
