We're looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist to join a team in Pembroke, NC on a 14-week contract starting ASAP. This role follows a standard day shift (8:00 AM-4:30 PM) and offers competitive pay: Travel pay $1,775/35-hours or Local pay $1,750/35-hours. What we need from you Active, valid Physical Therapy state license Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (AED included) What you'll be doing You'll build strong therapeutic relationships and lead patient-centered care from assessment through discharge.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Performing thorough physical assessments and reviewing medical histories, while collaborating with the care team to understand each patient's needs Creating individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals to support rehabilitation and recovery Designing and supervising exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination Using hands-on manual techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, stretching) to improve mobility and relieve pain Applying modalities like ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold to manage pain, inflammation, and tissue healing Teaching safe and effective use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) Providing patient and family education on conditions, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention Developing pain-management approaches that combine therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy Helping patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve daily function and quality of life Monitoring progress closely, documenting outcomes, and adjusting plans of care as needed Communicating clearly with physicians, nurses, OTs, and other team members to coordinate care Delivering tailored home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery Maintaining accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatments, progress notes, and any changes in condition Upholding ethical and legal standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent Demonstrating cultural sensitivity and adaptability to meet diverse patient needs Carrying out other duties as assigned by management If you're a compassionate, collaborative clinician who enjoys creating practical, results-oriented plans for patients, this position in Pembroke could be a great fit.
