Facility Setting :

Both inpatient and outpatient coverage, with call responsibilities

Role Highlights:

Patient Volume :

4-6 patients per shift in the hospital Up to 15 patients per shift in the clinic

Call Requirements :

Call response time: 30 minutes Beeper call, with 4-6 patient visits during call periods 100% callback rate with 4 admissions expected per call period

Practice Setting :

Clinic and call coverage on weekdays, weekend call coverage only, with midwife support on weekdays

Responsibilities:

Delivery and Surgical Requirements :

50 deliveries, including 12 cesareans, within the last 12 months 25 gynecological surgeries, with at least 5 major abdominal or vaginal surgeries Competency in handling low and high-risk pregnancies, cesareans, VBAC, breech, and multiple births Proficiency in routine and complex OB/GYN procedures, such as amniocentesis, low-forceps delivery, and cesarean decision-making Experience with gynecological surgeries, including cystectomies, ovary removals, ectopic pregnancy management, and laparoscopic minor procedures

Requirements:

Board Certification :

Board certified or eligible in

Obstetrics and Gynecology Certifications :

ACLS required; intermediate fetal monitoring certification preferred

Licensure :

Must hold or be eligible for an active North Carolina license

Experience :

Minimum recent procedural requirements as listed above

EMR Systems :

Familiarity with McKesson and Athena is a plus

Support Structure:

Staffing :

Includes RNs, CMAs, and midwives to assist during shifts

Hospital Beds :

15-bed OB/GYN unit with full support for inpatient needs

Call Support :

Midwife assistance for weekday calls; physician-only weekend call coverage

Additional Details:

Credentialing :

Estimated 90-day process, with temporary privileges available for candidates with clean malpractice history
