Non-Exempt Shift:
Days (On-Site, 5 Days per Week) Position Summary Friedman Industries is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Plant Administrator
  • Receiving Specialist to support daily plant operations through accurate inventory receipt, ERP system management, and administrative coordination.
This role is responsible for ensuring inbound steel inventory is properly verified, documented, and entered into company systems while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting operational efficiency across departments. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment, possess strong administrative and technology skills, and demonstrate a commitment to safety, teamwork, and accuracy. Key Responsibilities Inventory Receipt & ERP Accuracy Electronically receive inbound steel inventory into ERP systems Verify bills of lading (BOLs), packing lists, material test reports (MTRs), and related shipping documentation Ensure accurate and timely inventory transactions and data entry Inventory Control & Compliance Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities Support compliance with company procedures and operational standards Cross-Functional Coordination Communicate and coordinate with logistics, production, yard, and operations teams Resolve discrepancies involving vendors, carriers, and inventory documentation Support efficient material flow and operational continuity Administrative & Operational Support Prepare reports and provide administrative support to plant leadership Assist with scheduling, logistics coordination, and operational planning activities Support additional plant functions and perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Experience using ERP systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with technology applications and computer systems Ability to work effectively in both office and industrial environments Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree Steel industry experience Knowledge of steel documentation, including MTRs and heat numbers Administrative support experience in manufacturing or operations environments Work Environment & Requirements On-site attendance required five days per week Ability to work safely in office and plant settings Compliance with all PPE and safety requirements
Compensation & Benefits Pay Range:
