Job Description

PLANT MANAGER
About the Role A well-established private process manufacturing company is seeking a results-driven Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations at a multi-shift production facility. This critical leadership role is responsible for delivering best-in-class performance across safety, quality, cost, delivery, employee engagement, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong teams, and drives operational excellence through disciplined processes and people development. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and accountability for plant operations, including production, scheduling, and workforce management.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by driving safe work practices, engaging employees in safety programs, and ensuring strict adherence to all safety standards and procedures.
  • Establish, monitor, and improve plant-level KPIs related to safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery, inventory, and labor efficiency.
  • Use KPI data to identify trends, gaps, and root causes; implement corrective actions to improve performance and meet operational targets.
  • Consistently meet and exceed established performance standards/benchmarks and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with supply chain, technical, and finance teams to reduce product costs and indirect expenses.
  • Ensure all products meet design specifications and quality standards; resolve customer issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Establish, standardize, and maintain production systems and processes to consistently meet operational goals.
  • Evaluate operations to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, reduce errors, and enhance overall plant performance.
  • Manage product inventory accuracy and ensure on-time inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Develop, train, and coach employees on operating procedures, operational excellence, quality expectations, and safety standards; build strong succession planning and bench strength.
  • Identify and plan for short- and long-term capital equipment needs.
  • Directly supervise production managers and supervisory staff.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support operational objectives. Qualifications & Experience
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent related experience preferred.
  • Industry experience in mineral processing, chemicals, refractory, and/or construction products preferred.
  • Proven hands-on, proactive, and results-oriented problem-solving ability.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple initiatives effectively.
  • Solid understanding of Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma concepts preferred.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across teams and functions.
  • Strong aptitude for quickly learning and applying new information.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, and workforce management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
