Plant Operations Foreman Job Description The role of a Plant Operations Foreman involves overseeing the daily operations of a plant, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Supervising Plant Crews :
Directing and coordinating the activities of plant crews, ensuring they work efficiently and safely.
Training and Mentoring :
Mentoring and training new employees, as well as supervising existing ones to maintain high standards of work.
Equipment Maintenance :
Overseeing the maintenance and operation of plant equipment to ensure it operates smoothly and efficiently.
Quality Control :
Ensuring that the feed production meets quality standards and specifications.
Safety Compliance :
Ensuring that all safety regulations and procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
Problem Solving :
Troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise during operations, such as equipment malfunctions or production problems.
Communication:
Competent and professional communication skills (i.e. written and verbal.)
Multi-Tasking:
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once - the ability to deal with stressful situations.
Interpersonal Skills :
Ability to treat co-workers with respect and courtesy.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS A
bachelor's degree in agriculture science, feed mill science, or a supply chain management is required for the role of Operations Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
WHO IS WESTERN FEED MILL
Western Feed Mills, Inc. is a family owned, independent feed manufacturer headquartered in Cedar Vale, Ks. We were founded in 1984 by Mr. Fred Raybourn and partners, whose vision it was to build a feed company that would become a major supplier of feed and mineral products to livestock producers in our 4-state region. Manufacturing operations began in 1986 when the initial phase of feed mill construction was completed. With 5 employees, two trucks, and a hand full of products, we started supplying livestock producers and feed dealers in 4 surrounding counties. Today, Western Feed Mills, Inc. is a successful, financially sound company that has become the preferred feed and mineral supplier of livestock producers, both large and small, throughout a five-state area. After 40 years the company was sold in 2025 and bought by Matt and Brandy Williams along with their son, Bowdy Williams and now have more than 30 employees, manufacture over 400 different feed and mineral products and have a fleet of 20 delivery trucks. Our continuing growth is the result of our dedication, hard work and commitment to providing our customers with high quality, nutritionally balanced products at competitive prices. We back our products with exceptional customer service including timely delivery, volume pricing, custom mixing and on-farm nutritional consulting.
