Job Description:

Job Summary The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising and implementing all concrete plant operations including developing mix designs, dispatching, plant operations, deliveries, and associated maintenance. This role requires regular communication with internal and external customers such as external clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and senior management. This is a supervisory role overseeing 1-3 employees. Main Responsibilities Read and interpret mix designs and specifications Operate heavy equipment required for project completion; operate company vehicles to move people and equipment between job locations and company facilities Perform skilled work related to concrete manufacturing including testing concrete and troubleshooting manufacturing issues Perform administrative tasks, including but not limited to e-mail correspondence, timecard approval, handling documents and electronic files, inventorying and procuring materials, identifying and ordering parts and other consumables, etc. Ensure equipment maintenance inspections are completed to maintain equipment in safe operating condition Oversee servicing and maintenance on equipment; refer major problems to the shop Supervise other concrete operation employees, mentor and coach direct reports Ensure strict compliance with safety regulatory requirements, guidelines, and protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to property. Maintain a through understanding of regulations related to concrete manufacturing. Skills & Education Valid Drivers' License and ability to maintain a clean driving history required Commercial drivers' license required 3 to 5 years of experience working in concrete manufacturing or related field Self-directed, driven by results, and highly motivated requiring minimal direct guidance Proven track record of maintaining a safe work culture Knowledge of construction processes related to area of responsibility Ability to use a computer and/or mobile device, including use of MS Office, Android and iOS applications required Physical Requirements Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile device Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuity Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Standing/working on feet for long periods (8 hours or more), and walking across uneven terrain Frequently work in close proximity to heavy equipment and machinery Frequent exposure to typical construction site conditions, including dust and loud noise, and all weather conditions Some exposure to fuel, oil, and other chemicals Colas Inc. and its subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
