Plating or Heat Treat Technician

Job Description Heat treat Technician Shifts are normally 12 hours 6 pm to 6 am; and 6 am to 6 pm. 10% night differential has been added to started wage for second shift. Monday - Thursday.

Heat Treat:

Will load and operate furnace, gas and electric, which perform various types of heat treatment, check gauges and instruments during heat treat process and make adjustments or report irregularities to supervisor. Will become responsible to learn how to properly inspect parts to blueprint specifications. Must know proper testing procedures for all order being run, be able to test parts being run using approved methods. Capable to write up process sheets for orders and OK sheets for other operators. Strive to work well with co-workers as a team player, keep work area clean, and perform any other tasks as assigned.

Plating:

Operate plating lines as assigned. Load with forklift a crate of parts into dumping station to load plating barrel. Determine time cycle required to run plate product, set computer. When barrel is processed empty barrel into spinner baskets. Using overhead crane insert baskets into spinners, cycle, using overhead crane remove baskets from spinners and dump into shipping crates. Perform tests for thickness of plate. Load and operate low temperature oven. Assemble crates. Operate hand truck to load work containers and to move plated material aside. May sort mixed product. Keep work area clean. Handling customer product in the approved method insuring smooth flow to the next operation, reporting any problems with equipment or customer part to supervisor. Any other tasks as assigned. . Strive to work well with co-workers as a team player ______________________________________________________________________ Physical requirements for daily activities (these are estimated, there is not a set routine): Lifting - 25 to 50 pounds: Normally lifts items that weigh at least 50 pounds. Bend, stoop or climb Walking and standing: On feet for a full shift. Uses hand tools, measuring devices, overhead cranes, hand trucks, forklift.
