MAINTENANCE
-Plumber Classification :
Non-Exempt Level 12-Month Work Calendar Reports to :Maintenance Coordinator and Director of Facilities Statement of General Responsibilities:
Under general direction of management personnel, assists in maintaining facility plumbing. Does related work as required.Essential Functions and Principal Duties :
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: Analyzes blue prints, schematics, and drawings of plumbing systems for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems. Coordinates with assigned Foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently. Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in plumbing/irrigation systems for the purpose of identifying repair and/or replacement needs. fabricate equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts. Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations. Inspects buildings and facilities for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance. Installs plumbing systems and fixtures (e.g. hot water heaters, drinking fountains, etc.) for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities. Maintains vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition. Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions. Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information. Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair. Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.Physical Requirements:
Employees in this position must have the following ability: Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination required to operate power and motorized equipment using both hands. Physical agility to frequently stop, kneel, bend, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull, lift and move objects up to 50 pounds shoulder height and occasionally lift in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. Demonstrate normal depth perception. Stand and walk for extended periods. See and read printed matter, with or without visual aids, distinguish colors, read and understand rules and policies, labels and instructions. Verbal communications including the ability to speak and hear at normal room levels. Ability to use telephones and office equipment.Job Requirements:
(Minimum Qualifications) High School Diploma or GED Required 2 years of job-related experience Required Valid Arizona Driver's License Required Valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance cardWorking Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
