Job Title:
Plumber - Industrial / Commercial (Working Foreman) Job Description This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and piping systems in industrial facilities while acting as a working foreman. You will lead and oversee plumbers on larger projects, run jobs in the field, and ensure all plumbing and piping work meets applicable codes, safety standards, and project specifications. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair plumbing and piping systems in industrial facilities, including black steel, steel, PVC, and cast iron piping. Lead and oversee plumbers and multiple crews on larger projects, acting as a working foreman and ensuring work progresses safely and efficiently. Run jobs in the field by planning tasks, coordinating resources, and monitoring progress to meet project timelines and quality standards. Measure, cut, and bend various sizes of pipe and tubing to required angles and lengths using pipe cutters, benders, and related tools. Thread and assemble black and steel pipe, ensuring secure, leak-free connections that meet project and code requirements. Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to lay out and install plumbing and piping systems accurately. Perform threading, brazing, and welding tasks as required for piping installations and modifications. Install, repair, and maintain pumping stations and related mechanical systems in industrial environments. Apply knowledge of industrial facility piping systems, including backflow prevention, to ensure safe and compliant installations. Conduct code reviews and ensure all work complies with relevant plumbing, mechanical, and safety codes. Collaborate with other trades such as HVAC, electrical, and construction teams to coordinate installation and maintenance activities. Use rigging techniques and equipment safely when handling and installing piping and related components. Inspect, test, and troubleshoot plumbing and piping systems to identify issues and perform corrective actions. Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment, and follow all safety procedures on industrial job sites. Essential Skills Master or Journeyman state plumbing certification. Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and piping systems in industrial or commercial environments. Working foreman experience leading multiple crews on larger projects. Proficiency in threading, brazing, cutting, and bending various types and sizes of pipe and tubing. Hands-on experience with black steel pipe, steel pipe, PVC pipe, cast iron, and related piping materials. Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Strong understanding of industrial facility piping systems and their operation. Backflow certification and demonstrated experience with backflow prevention systems. Knowledge of plumbing and mechanical codes and the ability to perform code review for compliance. Experience with pipe fitting, installation, and mechanical assembly in construction environments. Capability to work with and around HVAC, electrical, and pumping station systems. Proficiency with rigging techniques and safe handling of piping and related components. Ability to perform basic welding tasks related to piping installations. Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills for supervising crews on site. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in industrial facility projects involving complex piping systems. Experience in construction environments with exposure to mechanical, plumbing, and piping trades. Familiarity with plumb alignment practices and precision installation techniques. Comfort working with a variety of materials, including black pipe, steel pipe, PVC, and cast iron. Ability to collaborate effectively with HVAC, electrical, and other trade professionals. The environment includes mechanical rooms, pumping stations, and other industrial settings where adherence to safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment is essential. Company vehicles are provided to support travel to and from job sites. The work schedule may include Sundays and holidays, with corresponding premium pay, reflecting the operational needs of industrial projects. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Pontiac, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $93600.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
