Full job description Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Police Chief to lead our law enforcement efforts with integrity, innovation, and dedication. As the top law enforcement officer within our community, you will oversee all police operations, ensure public safety, and foster positive relationships between the department and residents. Your leadership will set the tone for professionalism, accountability, and community engagement. This pivotal role requires a proactive mindset, excellent decision- making skills, and a passion for service. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and direction to all police department personnel to ensure effective law enforcement services Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols that promote safety, efficiency, and transparency Oversee criminal investigations, ensuring thoroughness and adherence to legal standards Manage emergency response coordination, including first aid and CPR when necessary Conduct surveillance operations to support ongoing investigations and crime prevention efforts Lead conflict management initiatives to de-escalate tense situations and maintain public order Prepare detailed reports on departmental activities, incidents, and investigations for review by city officials or oversight bodies Foster community relations through outreach programs, public meetings, and collaborative initiatives Ensure compliance with laws related to immigration, animal handling, security protocols, and loss prevention Requirements Proven leadership experience in law enforcement or military service with a strong record of managing teams effectively Extensive knowledge of criminal investigation techniques and law enforcement procedures Certification in CPR, first aid, and surveillance operations; additional certifications in animal handling or immigration law are a plus Demonstrated ability to write clear reports and maintain accurate records of investigations and incidents Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate patrol vehicles safely Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and decisively Experience in security management or loss prevention strategies is desirable Physical fitness to meet the demands of active patrols and emergency responses Join us as a Police Chief to lead with purpose, uphold justice, and make a lasting impact on our community's safety.
