Starting rates are noted below, plus there are shift and specialty differentials when applicable. Prior to July 1: $36.32 per hour After July 1: $37.41 per hour Police Specialists perform duties similar to a Police Officer, including law enforcement, community policing, solving complex community/campus problems, and security service delivery, plus they have specialist responsibilities involving leading the department's investigatory processes and providing subject matter expertise. Police Specialists report to the shift sergeant.
