Pool Director

Douglaston Club seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Pool/Aquatics Director for the summer season. This position will oversee all pool activity. The pool director will schedule and supervise lifeguards and staff, organize pool activities, and maintain a clean and safe pool, providing a pleasant experience for all members and their guests. Qualifications Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and teacher/or childcare provider required CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard certification required Responsibilities Maintain all records in accordance with law for pool maintenance, staff training and certifications, program member attendance and evaluation of participant skills, DOH requirements Know and understand all State and local Health and Safety requirements including Pool Safety Plan, Emergency Action Plan, Emergency Evacuation Routes and staff certifications Develops, implements, tracks and controls department budget in accordance with the Douglaston Clubs budget guidelines Review program schedules, capacity staffing and revenue to meet community needs and Douglaston Clubs mission Maintain positive relationships with all parents, members and staff Serves as a model to promote and demonstrate professional demeanor (uniform and positive attitude) to other pool staff Maintains adequate staffing (recruiting, training, hiring and evaluating) of lifeguards, swim instructors and water exercise instructors, to deliver programs Apprises the General Manager and Property Manager of any pool issues that may warrant closing or servicing Attend Pool Committee Meetings and/or
