About This Role Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. The Post Harvest Lead is responsible for leading and guiding the Packaging and Trim Teams through the daily processes related to the processing of medical and adult use marijuana on behalf of Common Citizen. Directly responsible for leading Post Harvest Citizens through the execution of daily tasks which are vital to Common Citizen's ability to produce the highest quality marijuana, including but not limited to, disseminating information, providing regular supervision, and status updates to the Post Harvest Captain. Responsibilities Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Communicate with clarity and consistency to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere. Assign work schedules and duties to processing staff for Trim and/or Packaging. Responsible for trimming, weighing, packaging, and collecting data for harvested plants. Lead daily Packaging, Trim and Automation room kick-off meeting in conjunction with maintaining the Production Control Boards and Inventory Board. Directly responsible for all stages of packaging, automated packaging, and trimming. Directly responsible for providing accurate and timely information to Post Harvest Supervisor and Director relating to weights, measures, quantities, etc. Directly responsible for all stages of trimming through the transfer to the Quarantine Room. Identify and communicate problems such as mold, diseases, insects, etc. that may have a negative impact quality Oversee daily and weekly cleaning assignments. Assure sanitation standards are followed with respect to process equipment maintenance and finished goods production equipment (i.e., auto-trimmer, pre-roll, automation, etc.) Be able to see and mitigate Waste / Product and Process Defects - considering a wide variety of defects such as plant disease, bad insects, poor product quality, etc. Accountable for quality control checks (Leader Standard Work) to ensure process and product quality are aligned with company standards and Ensure Citizens maintain a clean and tidy workspace (5-S Standard). Collaborate with all Citizens in improving daily tasks, proper training, and provide process audits with a passion for Continuous Improvement. Provide timely and professional feedback to Citizens on job performance. Able to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining on task. Ability to communicate verbally and in written communication using electronic media such as Slack and Outlook Email. Updating Standard Work and visual management (quality alerts). Data entry on applications such as Xcel and Microsoft forms. Consolidating data for end of day reports. Performs other duties as assigned. The Experience You Bring and the Skills weNeed:
Degree in Horticulture, Biology, Agriculture, or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Experience in agricultural or food safety/handling industry is acceptable in lieu of degree. Knowledge of basic MS Office and METRC. LeafLogix is a plus. Efficient cultivation/production work ethic with application of Lean tools. Knowledge in areas listed dependent on where you will work: plant diseases, insects and fungi, fertigation, plant treatment processes, cannabis finished goods product manufacturing, and extraction equipment. Must be a proactive Leader, able to influence others in a professional and courteous manner, encourage Lean Thinking and Continuous Improvement. Must have strong attention to detail and hold themselves and others accountable to Standards of Work. Strong communication and documentation skills. Problem solving skills. This is a dynamic team, and as such daily tasks may vary, resulting in a fast-paced and lively work environment. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit for long periods of time. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in a greenhouse environment (tolerance of heat & humidity).
