Precision Machinist and Tooling Specialist Cortland, NY 13045 $32.67 - $38.97 an hour - Full-time $32.67 - $38.97 an hour - Full-time About the Role As a Precision Machinist and Tooling Specialist, you will play a critical role in our production environment by fabricating, modifying, and maintaining the specialized components that drive our manufacturing success. You will leverage your technical expertise to ensure that all tooling and machinery meet rigorous quality standards, directly impacting the efficiency and precision of our production output. Responsibilities Set up and operate a diverse range of manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, drills, grinders, and hones. Fabricate, repair, and refine complex parts, jigs, fixtures, and prototypes to support ongoing production needs. Execute high-precision machining tasks while adhering to established safety and quality protocols. Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and optimize tooling performance. Maintain consistent production quality by performing accurate surface finishing and component processing. Work effectively with minimal supervision to meet project timelines and operational goals. Qualifications Required Skills High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent. Minimum of 18 months of hands-on experience in tool making or precision machining. Proficiency in manual machining techniques and CNC tooling setup. Physical capability to perform standard shop floor tasks, including standing, lifting, and moving materials as required. Preferred Skills Demonstrated experience with tool, die, or mold setup. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a manufacturing setting. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for custom part fabrication.
