  • Precision Machinists that have direct experience cutting a variety of metals on mills and lathes, likely of equipment brands of Haas, Mazak, Okuma, DMG, Brother, Mori Seiki, etc.
  • Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Precision Machinist (CNC) to join our manufacturing team.
In this role, you will operate and program CNC machines, including lathes and milling centers, to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure accurate machining processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing technologies, including CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, and electrical discharge machining, contributing directly to the production of high-quality parts used across various industries. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, primarily using Fanuc controls or similar systems. Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software to optimize machining operations. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure precise fabrication of parts. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and tolerances. Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime. Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations; adjust tooling as needed for optimal performance. Follow safety protocols diligently while handling hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes involving plastics injection molding or other manufacturing techniques. Maintain accurate documentation of machining processes, inspections, and quality checks in compliance with company standards. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls or equivalent systems. Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T principles for precise part fabrication. Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques for complex or hard materials. Skilled in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar tools for part design and modifications. Knowledge of CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming to generate efficient toolpaths. Mechanical aptitude with a solid foundation in manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and welding. Ability to use precision measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction on the shop floor. Ability to operate forklifts safely when handling raw materials or finished products. Experience working with hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and assembly operations within a manufacturing environment.
