This is a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment where tools, materials, and people are constantly moving. Our teams work closely across purchasing, prefab, field operations, and accounting to keep jobs running efficiently and on schedule. About the role The Prefab Tools & Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for purchasing and coordinating tools, equipment, and prefab-related materials across multiple locations. This role manages the full purchasing cycle, sourcing vendors, obtaining pricing, placing orders, and tracking deliveries, while staying closely connected to prefab shop operations. Success in this role means keeping tools and materials available, organized, and moving so production never slows down.

What You'll Do:

Manage purchasing for tools, equipment, and prefab-related materials across multiple locations Source vendors, obtain multiple quotes, and support cost-effective purchasing decisions Place, track, and reconcile purchase orders using ERP systems (Trimble Vista preferred) Work directly with prefab teams, tools managers, and electricians to understand day-to-day needs Track deliveries, backorders, and urgent requests to prevent production delays Coordinate movement of tools and materials between locations Maintain accurate documentation for POs, pricing, and vendor activity Communicate with vendors daily to resolve issues quickly Support inventory tracking and visibility for tools and prefab stock Partner with purchasing, accounting, and operations teams to stay aligned Travel as needed to support prefab shop operations

What You Bring:

Strong Excel, computer, and Microsoft Outlook skills Clear, direct communication-you can work effectively with field teams, vendors, and internal departments Real-world purchasing experience, preferably with tools, equipment, or electrical materials Experience sourcing vendors, obtaining quotes, and making practical purchasing decisions Hands-on experience managing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining documentation Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple POs, vendors, and priorities at once Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-activity shop environment with noise, movement, and shifting priorities Strong problem-solving mindset. Ability to anticipate issues and act quickly Experience with ERP systems (Trimble Vista preferred)

Preferred:

3-5 years in purchasing, tools coordination, prefab, or construction operations Electrical contracting or prefab shop experience Experience supporting multiple locations
