Prep Cook

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. We are an Italian market with a commercial kitchen. We make prepared entrees, pasta products, sauces, salads & soups to sell in the market, as well as catering trays. We offer paid benefits for full time staff after a period of time. Kitchen staff are required to work some Saturdays, No Sundays. Experience in food industry environments is highly valued, along with excellent knife skills. Duties Prepare ingredients and assemble components for grab & go items for sale in our market according to recipes and our standards Support cooking activities, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients Follow food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices Assist with catering to go orders Maintain organized workstations and ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained Qualifications Knowledge of food preparation techniques, and cooking methods Strong food handling skills with an emphasis on food safety standards Experience with knife skills, meal preparation, and food industry best practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent teamwork and communication skills Culinary experience or training is a plus Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to food prep and kitchen duties

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
