Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the creation of delicious and nutritious meals for our guests. Prior experience in dietary departments, food service, or restaurant settings is highly valued. The Prep Cook will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and ensuring all food handling procedures meet safety regulations. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring according to recipes and menu specifications Assist with menu planning and meal preparation for various dietary needs Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times Support cooking activities by assisting chefs with meal assembly and plating Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and sanitized after use Help with catering events or special meal preparations as needed Adhere to dietary department standards and assist in serving meals when required Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of quality meals Qualifications Previous experience in dietary aide work, food industry, or restaurant environment preferred Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques Strong knife skills and familiarity with culinary tools and equipment Understanding of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures Experience with meal preparation for special diets or catering is a plus Excellent organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety Prior experience in dietary departments or culinary settings is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
