Prep/ Line Cook

Duties Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards Assist in menu planning and ensure all food items meet quality and presentation expectations Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness Support cooking processes by operating kitchen equipment and knife skills efficiently Contribute to meal preparation for various service periods, including catering events if applicable Maintain an organized workstation, ensuring all supplies are stocked and stored correctly Serve food to guests or assist service staff during busy service times Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold sanitation standards in the kitchen Skills Strong background in food industry roles such as restaurant, with a focus on food preparation and food service Excellent knife skills and proficiency in cooking techniques across various cuisines Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices Ability to plan menus and prepare meals efficiently under pressure Experience with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance Good communication skills for teamwork and customer service excellence Enthusiastic about learning new culinary skills and advancing within the food industry Millside Cafe is a busy breakfast and lunch cafe open Wednesday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm. We are looking for creative candidates to join our team as we expand! Willing to train/coach the right candidate! Must be a team player and be able to work in a face paced high energy environment. 20 hrs per week
