ST. JAMES R-1 SCHOOL DISTRICT PARAPROFESSIONAL JOB TITLE
Preschool ParaprofessionalREPORTS TO
TITLEI TEACHER, AND BUILDING PRINCIPAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a secondary school diploma or a GED and meet one of the following qualifications: completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education (60 college hours), or obtained an Associate's (or higher) Degree, or have demonstrated knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness, by passing the Paraprofessional Assessment. Must hold a Missouri Substitution Certificate.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a punctual, daily schedule. Provide academic intervention/re-teaching for each individual or group of assigned students, under the direct supervision of a teacher. Be adequately prepared to utilize the session/intervention for maximum student outcomes. Participate in collaborative planning and seek guidance from the classroom teachers as necessary. Assist in keeping the lines of communication open between the paraprofessional, teacher, and parents. Participate in professional development activities and parent meetings as necessary. May assume limited duties that are assigned to similar personnel, including duties beyond classroom instruction, so long as the amount of time spent on such duties is the same proportion of total work time to similar personnel in the same school. Comply with all the rules and regulations as established by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education pertaining to the Title I programs. Complete and maintain all program records as required by the State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Title I Programs. Comply with federal, state, local, and Board of Education policies and regulations. Other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, Building Principal, or Assistant Superintendent, approvable by Title I guidelines.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment is on an annual basis. This is an at-will position. The Superintendent of Schools makes employment recommendations in April of each year for the next fiscal year. The final decision is made by the Board of Education. Salary is based on the Classified Salary Schedule adopted annually by the Board of Education.EVALUATION
An annual evaluation is conducted by the supervising classroom teachers each year using the evaluation method adopted by the Board of Education.Similar remote jobs
