Job Description

Overview:
Hillside Christian Academy is a small, Christ-centered school dedicated to nurturing young children in a safe, loving, and faith-filled environment. We focus on early childhood development through play-based learning, strong relationships, and the integration of biblical values into everyday experiences. We are seeking a warm, patient, and faith-driven Preschool Teacher who has a passion for working with young children and sees teaching as both a profession and a ministry. The Preschool Teacher will create a structured yet joyful learning environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, academically, and spiritually. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young learners, understands early childhood development, and is able to balance play, structure, and faith-based learning. Duties Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment Integrate Christian values, Bible stories, and character development into daily activities Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth Maintain daily routines, including classroom management, transitions, and activities Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and needs Ensure compliance with basic health, safety, and licensing requirements Participate in staff meetings, school events, and parent conferences Flexibility in assisting with Summer School Age program (up to 10 years old) Requirements Experience in preschool or early childhood education preferred Understanding of early childhood development and classroom management Alignment with the Christian mission and values of the school Minimum ECE units required (per California licensing requirements) CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to create a warm, structured, and engaging environment for young children Schedule & Compensation Part-time or Full-time options available Small class sizes with supportive leadership Compensation based on experience and qualifications Ministry-focused, team-oriented environment
Pay:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
