Methodist Family Center Preschool, Inc. (MFCP) is a United Methodist Church-affiliated preschool providing early childhood education to children ages two through five. Since 1994, MFCP has served the Darien community as part of the mission of the Darien United Methodist Church. We offer a warm, supportive, and joyful environment for both children and staff.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dependable, nurturing, and flexible Preschool Floater to support our teaching teams and classrooms during the morning hours. This role is essential in maintaining smooth daily operations by providing classroom coverage, assisting teachers, and stepping in as a substitute when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide classroom coverage as needed, including stepping in for teachers in their absence Support teachers and students during classroom activities, transitions, and routines Assist with basic caregiving tasks , including snack time, toileting, diapering, and handwashing Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Supervise children by sight and sound at all times to ensure safety Promote a nurturing and inclusive environment where children feel secure and valued Collaborate with multiple classroom teams , offering help where needed and adapting to different age groups (2s through 5s)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in an early childhood or preschool setting Background or coursework in early childhood education (CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's preferred) Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to jump in wherever needed Strong communication and interpersonal skills Passion for working with young children

Additional Information:

All candidates must pass a background check following a conditional offer of employment Training will be provided on MFCP policies and classroom procedures
