N/ABasic Job Functions:
- Set up, operate, and adjust press brake machinery to bend, form, or straighten metal materials according to specifications.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, work orders, and production instructions.
- Select proper tooling, dies, punches, and back gauges based on job requirements.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, tape measures, protractors, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Perform machine adjustments to maintain correct part dimensions and ensure consistent production output.
- Monitor machine operation and identify issues related to material, tooling, or equipment performance.
- Safely load and unload materials, following proper handling procedures.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and reporting needed repairs.
- Keep work area cleaned and organized, following Nucor safety and housekeeping standards.
- Support other fabrication or production departments as needed based on workflow.
- Adhere to all safety policies, ensuring safe operation of machinery and equipment at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings
- Advanced understanding of measurements, fractions, and basic math
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to use precision measurement instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and protractors
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices
- Ability to read and use precise measurement tools to tight tolerances Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
