Job Description

Pressure Relief Valve Technician (QC Inspector VI) General Description A Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) Technician inspects, tests, repairs, and calibrates safety relief valves to ensure compliance with ASME and API standards, preventing industrial system failures. Responsibilities include disassembly, machining, lapping, and pressure testing, both in shop and field environments, requiring mechanical proficiency, safety diligence, and meticulous documentation. Predictive & Preventive Maintenance:
Perform inspections, routine maintenance, and diagnostic testing (e.g., oil analysis, vibration monitoring) to prevent failures.
    Troubleshooting & Repair:
    Analyze mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, implementing corrective actions to restore machinery function.
      Disassembly & Inspection:
      Cleaning, disassembling, and inspecting PRV components for wear or damage.
        Repair & Maintenance:
        Lapping, repairing, and reassembling valves to meet manufacturing standards.
          Testing & Calibration:
          Using test benches to conduct hydrostatic or pneumatic tests to verify set pressure and seat tightness.
            Documentation:
            Accurately maintaining service reports, Valve Service History, and tagging documentation.
              Data Analysis & Documentation:
              Record maintenance activity in CMMS (e.g., SAP, PIMS), track equipment downtime, and analyzing failure modes to suggest improvements.
                Safety Compliance:
                Adhere to all safety regulations (e.g., 5S principles, lockout/tagout) to ensure safe working, following OSHA regulations, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and company quality procedures.
                Skills/Qualifications:
                  Education:
                  High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Technology or associated NCCER certifications in Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright and Pipe Fitter.
                    Experience:
                    3-5 years of experience as an industrial technician, particularly in heavy industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments.
                    • Possesses knowledge of ASME/Code requirements for PSV devices.
                    • Communication Skills - Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
                    • The ability to understand information, ideas, direction and then can perform the task or project discussed.
                    • Maintains quality service, and customer satisfaction initiatives by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
                    • Possesses general computer skills ( i.
                    e., email, WORD, Excel programs ), good verbal communications skills, including phone, radio, and plant communication systems.
                    Physical Demands:
                    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, reach with arms, ascend/descend stairs, ladders, fixed ladders, walkways, walk, stand, stoop for long periods of time, enter tight congested areas to include awkward positions, sit, climb, balance, and be able to lift 50 lbs. single person - 80 lbs. two persons. Ability to work extended hours in addition to normal shift in all weather and temperature extremes. Vision adequate to perform all required tasks. Ability to work over six feet above the ground; must not be afraid of heights.

Employee is regularly exposed to noise, dust, and varying types of smells Employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, elevated work areas, and outside weather conditions. Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area. Work Schedule The work schedule is 5/8.

                    At times, additional work hours & schedules will exist at the request of the client to meet specific work schedules support Maintenance, Capital, and Production work activities.

                    From $37.83 per hour
