Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Care MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. What You'll Do As a Medical Assistant in Primary Care, you'll be a vital part of the patient experience and care team.Your responsibilities include:
Preparing patients for provider visits using theAdvanced Standard Rooming Process:
Documenting chief complaints Taking vitals, reviewing history and allergies Completing medication reconciliation Addressing care gaps (e.g., screenings, diabetic eye exams) Rechecking elevated blood pressures Documenting preventive visit details in Epic ???Performing in-office testing:
Blood draws Mental status exams EKGs Oxygen studies Point-of-care testing Administering vaccines and injections within scope Scheduling follow-up appointments per office policy Collaborating with providers and clinical teams to support care plans Qualifications Primary Care Assistant•MA ???Education:
High School Diploma or GED ???Certification:
BLS required within 90 days of hire ⭐Preferred Experience:
6+ months in clinical healthcare, ideally in primary care Primary Care•Certified MA Education:
High School Diploma or GED Certification:
Active MA certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)BLS:
Required within 90 days of hireLPN Option Education:
Diploma inPractical Nursing Licensure:
Active LPN licensePreferred Experience:
