Shift:
Day/Eve Rotation (United States of America) Under indirect supervision, provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population.
Compensation Pay Range:
$148,500.00 - $580,000.00 ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS 1.
Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population. 2. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. 3. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate. 4. Manages patient medications and prescribes appropriate medications as needed 5. Orders and interprets laboratory studies, x-rays and other diagnostic tests. 6. Makes referrals to other healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care. 7. Establishes a therapeutic patient-health care provider relationship. 8. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required. 9. Documents patient clinical activities clearly, concisely and with-in the expected time frames as outlined in the Medical Records Completion and Documentation Policy. 10. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. 11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties assigned.
Communication:
1. Establishes effective working relationship with physicians, APCs, nurses, medical assistants and other support staff, to ensure a coordinated team approach to patient care. 2. Attends appropriate department and organizational meetings to stay abreast of current issues, trends, processes, systems and programs that affect the delivery of patient care and changes in the work environment 3. Brings important issues of concern and ideas to the Department Chief for discussion and appropriate resolution and/or planning.
Professional Development:
1. Attends both internal and external educational conferences and seminars that enhance current medical knowledge and skill development 2. Participates in professional activities, such as active membership in professional organization. 3. Maintain current board certification as defined by certifying organization and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions and progress.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs, and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
Medical Doctor Degree; residency program
License/Certificates:
State licensure, Board Certification or board eligible in area of expertise. Federal DEA license. BLS certification.
Experience:
Preferably at least 3 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. 6 weekends per year (12 shifts), one holiday every two years. Responsibilities if
